My name is Jane Stewart and I was born prematurely at 1lb 15oz. My parents were told, that if I survived, not to expect too much from me. My parents were advised by doctors to send me to dancing classes to strengthen my limbs. My life in show business all began from there.

After training at the Arts Educational School I appeared regularly on television in shows such as The Two Ronnies, Not the Nine o’ Clock News and Wogan. I also appeared in Berenson, which formed part of a drama documentary series for BBC 2, Every Picture Tells a Story and Freudian, which formed a part of The Without Walls series on Channel 4.

My work in the theatre was equally varied and included; Sally in Me and My Girl, Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, Maria in Twelfth Night, Mary in Jesus Christ Superstar, Rizzo in Grease, Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show and The Narrator in Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat.

I also worked in the West End in many diverse shows including Cliff at the London Palladium and Jukebox at the Astoria Theatre.

I am now the owner and Managing Director of a leading corporate hospitality company, Mark Butler Associates which was set up by my adored brother Mark Butler. Very sadly Mark passed away from cancer in 2007 and I continue to run the company in his name. My wide experience in show business has enabled me to expand the corporate hospitality concept into many areas of the arts including theatre, film, rock and opera.

I first had an idea for a lullaby CD when my son David was born. I spent days looking for a calming, well produced CD. I searched and searched to no avail… then my daughter Kate was born and my search continued…

Every time I thought I had found the right CD, the three little pigs popped up to blow the house down! Whenever I sat down to a well-deserved evening meal, a cry of “Has it finished?” would come floating down the stairs. Even worse, when there was a pause between songs, the magic (and their sleep!) was broken. Then it came to me; a CD to send your baby to sleep with no pauses to break the spell…

I gave up my search and decided that instead I would create a CD; one that would relax children without driving their parents crazy! One that could be appreciated by all generations from toddlers to their grandparents, whether in the car or in the cot.

I signed a contract with Universal Music & Marks and Spencer and my lullaby CD entitled ‘I Watch You Sleeping’ became one of the top selling CD’s in Marks and Spencer even outselling Frank Sinatra! This shows how many parents have children that don’t sleep….

Moving forward to 2018……..David and Kate are now grown up and both have successful careers in the music industry. Be warned if you play this to your children every night, they may end up with a career in music!

I wanted babies and toddlers to continue to enjoy the calming bedtime music but now inside a beautiful little bear called LULLY.  It has been a real labour of love. I hope many generations will continue to enjoy listening tothe timeless classics and pass LULLY to their children...
